I provide plans and engineering for metal buildings that utalize similar materials that are pre-manufactured and assembled in the field. It would be very helpful to be able to create sub-assemblies that could be saved. Then later, I could pick the assemblies and "assemble" them into a structure as needed for the analysis.

Hello Scott,
Thanks for your feature request, we recently added a nice copy-and-paste functionality that can be really helpful and provide a workaround for the sub-assemblies you suggest.
